Payster

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026. This is a translation; the Dutch version prevails.

In short: Payster collects no data.

  • Invoices are read on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to a server, ours included.
  • There is no account, no usage analytics, no tracking and no advertising.
  • Whatever Payster keeps stays on your own iPhone, and you delete it with one tap.

This policy covers the Payster iPhone app, including its AutoFill, notification and Dynamic Island components, and this website.

Who we are

Payster is made by VTO Software, based in the Netherlands. Send privacy questions to software@vantoever.nl.

The app

What Payster does with your invoice

When you share a PDF with Payster, the app reads the payee name, IBAN, amount and reference on your iPhone. It uses the text recognition and QR code reading built into iOS. Payster makes no internet connection: the invoice and its contents never leave your iPhone.

What stays on your iPhone

This data is kept in the app's protected storage on your iPhone. We cannot access it. If you back up your iPhone (for example to iCloud), iOS may include the stored invoice details in that backup, as with any app.

Clipboard

When you copy a field, Payster places it only on this iPhone's clipboard, not on your Mac's or iPad's. It is removed from the clipboard automatically after 10 minutes. AutoFill doesn't use the clipboard at all.

AutoFill

Payster uses the iOS AutoFill feature to insert text into a field. It only inserts what you choose. The app doesn't see your passwords and can't read what's in your banking app.

Notifications and Dynamic Island

If you choose a notification or the Dynamic Island, Payster creates it on your iPhone itself; no push service is involved. The payee and amount, and with the Dynamic Island also the field you copied last, are then visible on your lock screen until you delete the invoice or choose another paste method. iOS asks for your permission before notifications are shown.

What Payster doesn't do

Apple

You download Payster from Apple's App Store. If you've chosen in iOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple may show us anonymous crash reports and usage figures. You control this under Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements. How Apple handles your data is described in Apple's privacy policy.

If you email us

If you email us, we use your email address and what you send only to answer your question. We don't share it with anyone and delete it once we no longer need it for your question. If you attach an invoice, black out anything you'd rather not share first.

This website

This website uses no cookies. To see how many people visit, we use Umami on our own server (stats.vto-software.nl). Umami doesn't store IP addresses, doesn't set cookies and doesn't follow you across other websites. We only see totals, such as visits per page, country and browser type.

The website is hosted by Railway. To deliver the pages, Railway processes technical data such as your IP address and keeps it briefly in server logs for security and troubleshooting.

Children

Payster is not intended for children under 16. Because the app collects no data, we don't collect data from children either.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. Because Payster sends nothing to us, we hold no data about you from the app. If you've emailed us, you can ask to see or delete those emails. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the authority in your own country.

Changes

If Payster ever handles data differently, we'll update this policy before that version of the app is released. The date of the last change is shown at the top.
